This 10,000 hour rated super premium 12AX7 tube performs and sounds identicle to the Telefunken ECC803S and is actually more affordable and out-of-production. The ECC803S was designed as an upgrade tube for Broadcast-stations in Germany, where a compressed signal was advantageous to the small one speaker car or home radios. The ECC83 smooth-plate has a wider sound stage and appeals to TODAY'S stereo systems.
