* The 12AX7A is the perfect fit for the Fender 5F6A, it is the original tube specified for the 5F6A. 12AX7A for the first tube, or if you want your HOLY-GRAIL of guitar amps to perform miracles with harmonics you never heard before out of it then splurge for item NOS RCA 7025 12AX7A PLATINUM MIC TUBE. First tube the 12AY7 preamp or the 12AX7 or 5751 voltage amp, Second and third tubes are 12AX7 drivers. The 12AX7 cathode follower, the tone stack, the long-tailed-pair phase splitter, the push-pull power amplifier, and the power supply. was the originally supplied tube to Fender in the 1950s if you want to be period-correct. Either would a great choice.

This is my best. These do not come around often, with the RCA 12AX7A the GM is usually high and the mA is usually low. High mA and GM are rarely seen, I know because I get dozens in and that's the way these test in general.
This tube is known for excellent performance, smooth highs, outstanding 3-D holographic soundstage, lots of open-air, inner detail, and overall perfect resolution and balanced sound.
