PRICED EACH PAIR
Originally located at 79 Washington Street in Brooklyn, New York, Amperex was a long-established manufacturer of transmitting tubes when they were acquired by the Dutch firm, Philips around 1955.
Philips continued to improve and enlarge the tube plant in New York, but also used the Amperex name to distribute their new line of Dutch-made miniature tubes, (12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7) to feed the booming U.S. hi-fi market. Classic hi-fi brands such as Marantz Fisher, and H.H. Scott, Inc., used these tubes. Amperex also produced the 6DJ8, 6922 and 7308 frame grid tubes. Developed by Amperex in 1958 when transistors were beginning to supplant tubes and originally developed for video and radar use, the 6DJ8 also excelled in audio amplifiers needing its high transconductance, and it still has a niche market among experienced audiophiles. Balanced and Matched low-noise 6922, These Low-Noise E88CC TUBES are one of the most sought-after esoteric Made in USA 6922's
PAIR 1: (WAS AVAILABLE 4/23/18 and has SOLD! 5/13/18) tube 2: 19.4mA/18.2mA & 14,860/14,450 mA/V (7L6 *2H) tube 1: 19.4mA/18.0mA & 14,800/14,590 mA/V (7L6 *1K)
With the AMPEREX P.Q. 6922 E88CC you are going to hear ALL the frequencies passing through your system, the more sensitive the tube the more you will hear. You are using AUDIO GRADE tubes with the AMPEREX E88CC, which have a sonic-signature that reproduces not only the 'odd'harmonics (1-3-5 etc.) but also the 'even' harmonics (2-4-6 etc.) The new tubes made today in China and Russia only reproduce 'odd' harmonics - thats why everyone upgrades to a vintage made tube made decades ago when these rare 'earth-metals' were available in the inner construction of the vintage tube - now these metals are too expensive to use and todays tube-makers have found cheaper substitutes which seem to work but do not reproduce all the nuances and textures in music. ..."
"Dear tubemuseumusa,
Hi, The pair of tubes arrived an hour ago and I wasted no time. It is exactly what you have recommended. The pair makes my Bitfrost/Lyr/LCD-02 sings ! I like em more than the 70s 6922 Mullard on LCD-2. Haven't tried with the other brighter cans; HD-800 & 700. I love them.
Thank you.

…"Dear Tube Museum New York, I just received your AMPEREX USA FRAME-GRID GRAY-PLATE PAIR and I am speechless!
I previously considered my Telefunken E188CC as the top of the musical food-chain, but was I mistaken. The Amperex I got from you break all sonic barriers and I am overwhelmed with the difference from the dull sterile non-musical Telefunken which I had previously thought was the best. I am really grateful for all the information you supplied me, the links about how Amperex invented the Frame-Grid technology and the detail you went into to display the actual test measurements of my Amperex tubes. I had my friend over last night to audition the Amperex tubes against the Telefunken E88CC and the difference was quite apparent. The Telefunken has NO musical tone. I actually like the Telefunken 6DJ8 better than the Telefunken E88CC! I can't believe it! With the Amperex tubes my amp just disappears and I hear joust the pure and unadulterated MUSIC as it was intended to be! I can't thank you enough, they are everything I hoped for …and MORE! - j.D."...
